AMMCO Privacy Policy

Browsing our website:   When you visit our website, we collect the basic technical information necessary to (1) maintain the connection with and functionality of your browser, (2) ensure the proper operation of our systems, and (3) recognize abuses such as attempts to gain improper access to our servers etc.; namely:

  • the IP address you’re using to access our site, 

  • which browser and operating system you’re using to view our site, 

  • the pages you view while accessing our site, and 

  • the timestamps of your visit. 

As part of our server’s interaction with your device, our server places session cookies regarding the above information on your device.  There is no advertising on our site and thus no advertiser links or attempts to track your usage for targeted ads, etc., but as you will notice there are numerous links on our site to other charitable and governmental organizations. If you click on one of those links, the server of the organization whose link you click on will record that you arrived at the organization’s site via the link on our site.

No human at AMMCO views any of this technical information unless technical issues arise. We do not attempt to identify you, track you or your use of our site over time, or analyze how you use our site. We do not deploy or use persistent cookies, web pixels/beacons, analytics, webfonts, or JavaScript.

Contacting us:  For obvious administrative purposes, we keep copies of your communications with us via the “contact us” page.  We do not sell or share such communications, including your personal information, with anyone other than our own staff, volunteers, and support network, and then only for purposes of carrying out our charitable activities as discussed in whatever communications we have with you. If you do not enter into a business or volunteer relationship with us we will delete all copies of if you so request; otherwise we will routinely retain copies of your personal information and communications with us. We do not have a fixed schedule for deleting such information. Because we are a charitable organization, not a business, your communications with us are not confidential; nonetheless we use our best efforts to ensure that your personal information, once stored on our servers, will remain secure.

AMMCO is located in Cameroon, and Cameroon law applies to your use of this website, including this privacy policy. AMMCO’s volunteers come from all over the world, and this website does not target users from any particular country.

California Residents:  Pursuant to Cal. Civ. Code §1798.140(d)(1), we are exempt from the California Consumer Privacy Act. 

EEA Residents:  If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we do not intentionally target people in the EU and thus we are exempt from the GDPR. See EDPB Guidelines 3/2018 on the territorial scope of the GDPR (Article 3), Ver. 2.1 (Nov 12, 2019). GDPR Article 14, Paragraphs 5(a) and (b), and Article 27, Paragraph 2 also apply.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time; the most recent update is always indicted at the top.
